Is Mother’s Day early this year? It’s a week from Sunday. That feels early. And then Father’s Day isn’t too far behind.

You know what moms and dads like? Books about Jimmy Buffett and Margaritaville, about beaches and bars and the way the world keeps turnings. My mom and dad ordered a couple of copies — and I was going to give them one. That’s how much moms and dads love Jimmy Buffett: A Good Life All the Way (Out Tuesday on Touchstone).

They might even like these books signed. There are three ways we can do this.

1. If you’re in Portland (or nearby), come to Powell’s on May 16. I’m reading at 7:30 p.m. It’ll be fun.
2. I signed 80 copies for Alabama Booksmith in Birmingham. They’ll have them available soon. (That’s me there. Signing books.)
3. Buy a book then send me an email. Let me know you’ve got a copy (or one on the way), give me an address and tell me who you’d like it signed for, and I’ll send you a bookplate. What’s a bookplate? It’s a sticker. It goes inside the book all nice and neat.
